Everyone draws on inspiration. For me, this is Bettie June. Otherwise known as BJ, Grandma or Big Red (pending circles) — She is the Queen of all things style. Seriously advanced style. And in my world, she invented the heirloom. Inspired by her late husband, my grandfather, who had a passion for gems and gold, she has single-handedly created the world's greatest pieces of fine jewelry in her lifetime, and still rocks them at 92. Creating jewelry is just one of her many gifts, along with collecting art and designing homes and wrapping the perfect silk headscarf and pulling together outfits that suit every occasion, perfectly, and better than everyone half her age.
